The Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo has surpassed 5,000 victims, with no effective solutions found yet. The rare Bundibugyo strain lacks approved treatments or vaccines. Delayed detection, conflicts, and overwhelmed medical services have accelerated the virus's spread. Eight out of 26 provinces have been affected, with many deaths occurring outside treatment centers. This outbreak is the second largest in history, following the 2014-2016 epidemic. Recently, Nigeria reported its first case, expanding the epidemic's reach to West Africa, while Kenya and Uganda also reported cases.
