The Sun rises in the east and sets in the west due to Earth's rotation on its axis from west to east. As the Earth rotates, it moves observers toward the east, allowing celestial bodies to appear above the horizon. The timing of sunrise and sunset varies globally based on location and the tilt of Earth's axis. At the equator, the rotational speed is about 1,600 kilometers per hour, decreasing towards the poles. Despite this speed, humans do not perceive it because everything around them moves at the same rate, making it feel as if they are stationary.
