October 31 marks the 100th anniversary of Harry Houdini's death, a renowned magician who died on Halloween in 1926. Houdini, born Ehrich Weiss, gained fame for his escape acts and debunking spiritualists. His death followed a perforated appendix after being struck in the abdomen by a student. Houdini had a secret pact with his wife, Bess, to communicate after death, but she never received a message. This coincidence of his death on Halloween has led to various interpretations, linking it to the supernatural themes he often challenged.
