A small marble fragment, believed to be from the Parthenon, was returned to Greece after being in a Chilean family for decades. Enrico Tosti-Croce inherited the piece from his father, who took it from Athens in 1930. Upon hearing about Greece's request for the return of Parthenon sculptures, he contacted the Greek embassy and sent the fragment for examination. Experts determined it belonged to an older temple, likely the Hekatompedon, dating back to around 570 BC, predating the Parthenon. Tosti-Croce expressed satisfaction in returning the piece, which highlights the extraordinary stories behind family heirlooms.
