General Iosif Rus, a 111-year-old war veteran from Gherla, received the Army Honor Emblem during a ceremony on October 28. The event was attended by Cluj prefect Maria Forna, who expressed gratitude for his service. Born in 1915, Rus has been honored with the Order of the "Star of Romania" and recognized as an honorary citizen of Gherla. He is now the oldest living person in Romania, following the passing of Noja Paladia in September.
