The Timiș County Council has announced the launch of a tender for the long-awaited underground passage at Urseni, aimed at alleviating traffic between Urseni and Timișoara. The passage will be 550 meters long, featuring one lane in each direction and sidewalks, with a total width of 12 meters. Construction is expected to take one and a half years, with the first six months dedicated to design. This project will significantly reduce daily traffic pressure by allowing vehicles to bypass the roundabout at Moșnița Nouă. The estimated cost for the project is 70.3 million lei, excluding VAT, and it will include a reinforced concrete structure of about 65 meters.
