The Romanian Digitalization Authority has launched GIA, an AI assistant integrated into the Ghișeul.ro mobile app, enabling users to pay taxes and fines, download criminal records, and access public service information through natural language conversations. GIA can automatically extract payment details from photos of tickets, allowing quick transactions. The assistant is available on both Android and iOS, providing personalized responses based on user profiles and public data. With over 3.6 million active users, GIA aims to simplify access to public services and enhance user experience. Future developments include expanding conversational assistance and allowing access without authentication.
