The gas power plant in Câmpia Turzii, with a capacity of 160 MW, has entered testing just a year after the project began. Nova Power and Gas officials announced that the plant, along with a 100 MW battery storage system, is expected to be completed by December 2026. The first ignition of the gas turbines is scheduled for December 15, pending necessary licenses. Construction started in December 2025, with significant progress made by Electrogrup. The facility will operate in conjunction with solar energy and battery storage, forming a comprehensive energy system. E-INFRA, the parent group, is developing this complex, which includes Romania's largest battery storage installation and a photovoltaic park.
