New regulations for Uber and Bolt drivers have been adopted by the Senate, limiting the use of vehicles under a comodate contract to one per operator. This initiative aims to reduce tax evasion risks while allowing independent workers to use a vehicle provided for free. The law requires authenticated comodate contracts for operators and maintains existing rules for vehicles owned or rented. The proposal, initiated by a group of deputies including Voicu Vușcan, passed with 63 votes in favor and will now be reviewed by the Chamber of Deputies. The initial plan to ban comodate vehicles entirely was amended to allow one vehicle per operator, balancing tax compliance with support for small operators.
