The Romanian government will allocate nearly 1.1 billion lei to settle debts to companies involved in the Anghel Saligny program. Over 680 million lei will come from budget reallocation, while the rest is from initially allocated funds. Payments are expected to start next week, covering about half of the 2.3 billion lei in outstanding debts. The remaining amount will be addressed in November through a new budget rectification. Additionally, the pace of payments under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan has increased, exceeding 250 million lei. Discussions are ongoing regarding administrative reform, including voluntary and mandatory consolidation of smaller communes.
