Mazarine Energy, a Dutch independent oil and gas company, has acquired Black Sea Oil & Gas (BSOG), enhancing its presence in Romania's energy sector. Founded in 2013, Mazarine focuses on mature hydrocarbon fields and has been active in Romania since 2017. The acquisition grants Mazarine access to significant offshore gas production in the Black Sea, particularly the Midia project, which has been operational since June 2022. Mazarine aims to maintain BSOG's operations and contribute to Romania's energy security. The deal also includes plans for future investments in carbon capture and offshore wind energy.
