The Romanian Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced that burn centers in Timișoara and Târgu Mureș are expected to start receiving patients early next year. Construction and equipment installation at these centers are complete, while work continues on the children's burn center in Bucharest. Delays in operationalizing the centers were attributed to blocked funding for medical equipment procurement. Rogobete emphasized that the projects, initiated in 2015, faced significant delays before he took office in 2021. He acknowledged the lack of a functional burn center after 11 years since the Colectiv tragedy as a failure of vision and administrative accountability.
