Finland plans to establish a military space operations center at Tikkakoski Air Force Base by January 1, 2027, to enhance its defense capabilities. The center will oversee military space activities and coordinate with NATO and partner nations. Initially, it will employ around 20 personnel, with growth expected in the coming years. This initiative reflects Finland's commitment to strengthening its defense as space becomes increasingly operationally significant. The military's space capabilities will include three synthetic aperture radar satellites from ICEYE, with operational control expected by April 2027.
