Seven members of a drug trafficking network were sentenced for smuggling cocaine into the UK, hidden in gouda cheese. The total drug value exceeded 530 million euros. The cocaine was brought through Dover port and distributed in northern England. Three individuals were sentenced recently, following four others earlier in the week. A total of 18 people faced charges in two separate trials that began last year. The investigation started after police seized drugs worth 2.4 million euros in Leeds, uncovering a sophisticated distribution network. Over 123,000 kilograms of cheese were imported, with each block containing cocaine bricks.
