The Romanian Ministry of Finance has proposed an emergency ordinance that includes the elimination of the national tax on parcels from outside the EU, known as the "Temu tax," starting November 1, 2026. This change aims to align national legislation with European regulations, which impose customs duties on such parcels. Additionally, the ordinance extends the suspension of penalties for merchants issuing fiscal receipts without required identification codes until October 31, 2027. It also introduces new rules for the sale of confiscated goods and extends the funding deadline for teaching support cards to December 31, 2026. Measures for ensuring heating in localities and financing local services are also included in the proposal, which will be discussed in a government meeting.
