American astronaut Anil Menon and Canadian Joshua Kutryk completed a spacewalk on October 29, installing a new solar panel on the ISS. This marks the seventh IROSA solar array added to the station, enhancing its energy capacity significantly. The operation lasted over seven hours and involved using the Canadarm2 robotic arm for installation. NASA plans to install an eighth panel on November 5, which will further increase the station's power generation from 160 to 215 kilowatts. This upgrade supports both scientific operations and the safe decommissioning of the ISS at the end of its operational life.
