The Niculescu Cabinet is discussing measures to extend the application period for energy safety protocols and crisis regulations for oil and petroleum products. This includes the establishment of a Winter Energy Command to ensure the safety of the National Electroenergetic System from November 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The government is also considering extending the state of alert due to ongoing energy challenges and geopolitical events affecting Romania. The crisis situation for oil and petroleum products is set to be prolonged until February 1, 2027, following the escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
