The Romanian Railway Reform Authority received an electric locomotive from Alstom, set to enhance passenger services. This locomotive will be managed by CFR Călători and will enter service after registration in the European Vehicle Register. It is part of a contract for 16 multi-system locomotives, aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions. The project is funded through the Modernization Fund, with a total value of approximately 89.36 million euros. The new locomotives will replace older models and serve a network of nearly 4,000 kilometers across five interregional routes.
