On the 11th anniversary of the Colectiv tragedy, Prime Minister Luca Niculescu emphasized the need for a modern burn center in Bucharest. Despite some progress in establishing burn centers in Timișoara and Târgu Mureș, Romania still lacks adequate facilities for severe burn patients. The Prime Minister urged the Health Minister to create a realistic timeline for the new center's construction. The Colectiv fire, which resulted in 65 deaths and over 150 injuries, highlighted the deficiencies in Romania's healthcare system for burn victims. Currently, only a few beds are available for burn patients in southern Romania, and many are still sent abroad for treatment.
