The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) has started notifying individuals who failed to submit Form 216 for luxury tax on high-value properties and vehicles. Consultant Cornel Grama emphasized the importance of compliance, as failure to pay can lead to penalties. The luxury tax applies to residential properties valued over 2.5 million lei, with specific filing deadlines. Each co-owner of a property exceeding this threshold must submit their own declaration. The tax is calculated based on the taxable value minus the threshold, at a rate of 0.9%. Grama clarified that even if co-owners individually own less than the threshold, the declaration is still required for the entire property value.
