In October, Germany saw a slight increase in unemployment, although it was below analysts' expectations. The labor market is experiencing a modest recovery this autumn. Seasonally adjusted figures show a rise of 4,000 unemployed, totaling 3.016 million, while analysts had predicted a 5,000 increase. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 6.4%. Conversely, the unadjusted unemployment count fell by 40,000 to 2.955 million, staying below 3 million for the second consecutive month. Andrea Nahles, head of the Federal Employment Agency, noted that economic conditions are not yet sufficient for significant labor market improvement. The agency reported 654,000 job vacancies in October, an increase of 31,000 compared to last year.
