The workinromania.gov.ro portal for hiring foreign workers in Romania is expected to be fully operational by mid-November. The PIFM announced that a technical and legislative solution has been agreed upon with the Ministry of Labor. This includes two ministerial orders to modify the methodology for defining shortage professions and to expand the list from 289 to nearly 400 occupations. The PIFM highlighted that the portal's downtime caused recruitment halts for many employers, leading to financial losses. They also expressed concerns about problematic provisions in the current emergency ordinance, urging for revisions in Parliament. The PIFM aims for a coherent law that ensures fair legal principles and practical application.
