In the first nine months of the year, the number of building permits for residential buildings decreased by 15.5% to 24,016 compared to the previous year. All development regions experienced declines, with the most significant drops in Nord-Est and Sud-Muntenia. In September alone, 2,225 permits were issued, marking a 24.4% decrease from August and a 38.2% drop from September 2025. The majority of permits (68.5%) were for rural areas. For non-residential buildings, 420 permits were issued in September, down 25.9% from August. Overall, both residential and non-residential permits saw significant declines compared to the previous year, reflecting a broader trend across all regions.
