A recent SoftServe survey indicates that garden maintenance robots and elderly care companions may soon become common household devices. While 27% of engineers favor garden robots, 20% prefer companions for seniors. Specialized robots are expected to be adopted faster than multifunctional ones. Current market offerings include lawn mowers with AI, but they can't fully replace gardeners. 31% of respondents desire deep-cleaning robots, while 23% want general household assistants. Global sales of consumer service robots are projected to rise significantly. However, advanced multifunctional robots may take longer to integrate into homes, with many respondents estimating a timeline of five to ten years. Challenges include recognizing new situations and ensuring safety around people. Despite this, 51% believe robots will enhance their lives in the next five years.
