A German defense company and a Ukrainian firm have tested an armed ground robot for Ukrainian forces, with initial systems expected by late 2026. The GEREON system, developed by ARX Robotics, can perform reconnaissance and is equipped with the SABER weapon module from ROBONEERS. This allows soldiers to operate from a safer distance. Unarmed versions are already in use for various tasks, and the system can be adapted for different missions. The collaboration aims to create a flexible robotic system for frontline operations, with over 15,000 missions completed since 2014. The companies also plan to expand production of another unmanned vehicle, Rys Pro, targeting over 1,000 units in the first year.
