The case regarding the death of 7-year-old Larisa Ivan, who was killed by a football goalpost in 2019, has taken an unexpected turn. Judges at the Oradea Court of Appeal could not reach a consensus on the verdict, leading to a new hearing with a three-judge panel. The incident occurred in Dobrești, where Larisa died after an unsecured goalpost fell on her. Three individuals were charged with manslaughter, and a previous ruling sentenced two to suspended prison terms and imposed significant damages to be paid to the family. The case will be re-evaluated on November 16, 2026.
