The heavy metal band Goodbye to Gravity launched their new album at Colectiv club in Bucharest, where a tragic fire broke out during the concert. The fire, caused by pyrotechnics, lasted 153 seconds, resulting in 27 immediate deaths and 37 more in the following months due to severe injuries. Over 160 others were injured. In a separate historical context, the Tsar Bomba nuclear test in 1961 was the most powerful explosion ever recorded, visible from 1,000 km away. Additionally, in 1938, a radio adaptation of H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds caused mass panic in the U.S. as listeners believed in a Martian invasion.
