The film "Fjord," directed by Cristian Mungiu, will receive 500,000 lei from the Ministry of Culture for its Oscar promotion. Minister Ioana Ciocan emphasized the importance of a comprehensive promotional campaign to reach Academy members. "Fjord," awarded the Palm D'Or at Cannes, is Romania's submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the Oscars. The national premiere is set for January 15, 2027, with a gala event in Bucharest. Oscar nominations will be announced on December 15, 2026, with the ceremony scheduled for March 14, 2027.
