A hacker is suspected of illegally winning millions in online poker by installing spyware on professional players' computers, allowing him to see their cards in real-time. The scheme, which lasted several years, targeted hundreds of players and resulted in estimated losses between $1.5 and $4 million. The fraud was uncovered when a professional player, using AI assistant Claude, detected a suspicious program called MeshAgent on his computer. This malware was installed without the player's knowledge and recorded suspicious activity during poker sessions. The hacker compromised software used by professionals to manage multiple tables, enabling remote access to their computers. While some platforms took action against the suspect, others faced criticism for delayed responses. The hacker's identity remains undisclosed as he has not been charged yet.
