A new scandal has emerged in Corbeanca, led by mayor Ștefan Apăteanu from USR, regarding waste collection contracts. Allegations of illegal construction of a solar panel structure have surfaced, alongside concerns about two emergency contracts for waste management. The local council faces a significant debt of over 9 million lei to TRANS AUTO CORBEANCA SRL, which has ceased operations due to non-payment. A local emergency committee has recognized the risk to public health from halted waste collection. The mayor has proposed temporary contracts without prior public announcement, prompting local councilors to file a complaint with DNA. Apăteanu claims the accusations are politically motivated and insists all actions were approved by the council.
