On Thursday evening, supporters of former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu gathered outside the Central Arrest, with attendance significantly lower than previous protests. Approximately 200 participants chanted slogans claiming his innocence amid ongoing investigations by DIICOT regarding a fraud case involving a €1.1 million loss. Georgescu has been in preventive detention since September 29, following a court decision citing his active role in the alleged fraud. Attendance at the protests has dwindled from thousands to just 30 on this occasion. George Simion of AUR announced plans for a larger protest, suggesting potential participation from hundreds of thousands. Georgescu is implicated in a fraud scheme involving promises of a €6 million loan, with evidence including messages and emails linking him to the case.
