Romania is set to receive over 8 billion euros through the fifth and sixth payment requests from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). Ongoing negotiations with the European Commission focus on meeting milestones to unlock these funds. The Minister of Transport highlighted that 11 milestones have been achieved, contributing to the potential funding. Meanwhile, authorities are addressing administrative delays affecting PNRR projects, with around 2,400 pending payment requests needing resolution by November 6. The priority remains to unblock payments to local authorities and companies involved in these projects, ensuring essential investments continue. The experience gained from PNRR implementation will inform future EU-funded projects for the 2028-2034 financial framework.
