The Vatican showcases eight papal vehicles from 1930 to the present, highlighting the evolution of papamobiles from protocol limousines to electric cars. The exhibition, titled "A Century of Papamobiles," opened to the public on October 29 and features vehicles adapted for both official duties and public engagements. Pope Leo XIV emphasized the role of these vehicles in connecting the pontiff with the faithful during pastoral visits. The oldest vehicle on display is a 1930 Mercedes-Benz Nürburg 460, while the first fully electric papamobile was introduced for Pope Francis in 2024. The exhibition runs until January 31, 2027.
