The Ministry of Finance has released a draft emergency ordinance for the first budget rectification of 2026, focusing on healthcare and social protection funding. The rectification aims to redistribute resources based on budget execution and projected needs, maintaining a cash deficit target of 6.2% of GDP. Healthcare receives the largest net increase, with 3.22 billion lei allocated for medical services and salaries. Social security transfers are also boosted by 3.47 billion lei to balance pension budgets. Local budgets will see an increase of 2.81 billion lei from VAT for various social services.
