Despite a weak economy, Romania's fuel demand has exceeded OMV Petrom's expectations, according to CEO Christina Verchere. She noted that while fuel demand remained strong, the industrial sector faced challenges. The company experienced a 2% increase in fuel demand at gas stations, while direct deliveries to companies dropped by 11%. Verchere welcomed the new government's installation, which may facilitate discussions on extending OMV Petrom's oil licenses. The Romanian economy contracted by 0.6% in the first half of the year, but OMV Petrom anticipates stable fuel demand moving forward.
