The Ungheni bridge for the Unirii Highway was supposed to be completed by October 26, 2026, but is only 56% finished. The contractor, Ness Proiect Europe, has requested preventive concordat to avoid insolvency. The project, costing nearly 152 million lei, has faced significant delays, with the completion date pushed to December 2027. Financial pressures have led to a substantial increase in the company's debts, which rose to approximately 605 million lei in 2025. Despite having other public contracts, including one for a hospital project, delays have also affected those works.
