The default rate for loans guaranteed by the National Credit Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises (FNGCIMM) is 2.4% in value and 1.6% numerically in agriculture, while in the food sector it reaches about 3.5%. Dan Stoian, executive director of FNGCIMM, noted significant regional disparities in default rates, with some counties showing rates as high as 13% and others at 0%. Approximately 142 guarantees are in default out of 96,000 granted. About 30% of beneficiary companies have doubled or tripled their turnover since receiving guarantees, while 20% have seen declines. Stoian expressed hope for improvement among the remaining companies.
