Doru-Dragoș Cazan, a former director at Apele Române, has been reinstated after a four-month medical leave, following the revocation of his dismissal by the new Minister of Environment, Natalia Intotero. USR criticized this decision, suggesting it was politically motivated. Diana Buzoianu, the former minister who dismissed Cazan, highlighted the timing of his return coinciding with the change in political leadership. She also raised concerns about the legitimacy of his medical leave, which included frequent changes in diagnoses. The reinstatement occurs amid ongoing disputes regarding illegal mineral extractions and the delay in implementing a monitoring application for such activities, which Buzoianu claims was nearly ready before her departure.
