A farmer in Brașov County was detained for allegedly attempting to fraudulently obtain agricultural subsidies by overstating the number of livestock. He claimed to have 429 sheep and 55 goats, while actually owning only 151 sheep and no goats. The National Anticorruption Directorate initiated legal action against him for submitting false documents to the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture. Investigators found a discrepancy of 333 animals between declared and actual numbers. The farmer's actions were interrupted on September 11, 2026, during searches. He is set to be presented for preventive arrest due to prior convictions.
