Carlyle Group and EBRD have agreed to sell Black Sea Oil & Gas to Mazarine Energy, pending regulatory approvals. BSOG, which developed Romania's first offshore gas project in 30 years, has significantly contributed to the country's energy security. Mazarine will continue operating the Midia project post-acquisition. Carlyle's investment since 2015 transformed BSOG into Romania's leading offshore gas producer. Mazarine aims to enhance energy supply in Romania, while BSOG plans to expand into green energy projects.
