The opening of Section 4 of the Sibiu-Pitești Highway depends on the completion of safety tests in the Momaia tunnel and the connection road to DN73G. CNAIR's director, Cristian Pistol, confirmed that construction is nearly complete, with over 80% of the connection road finished. The Momaia tunnel features advanced monitoring systems with over 2,500 sensors and cameras. Final safety tests are scheduled for November in collaboration with the Emergency Situations Inspectorate. The section, measuring 9.86 kilometers, includes 12 bridges and viaducts and is expected to open by the end of 2026, pending all safety checks and road connections.
