Bulgaria is enhancing its military capabilities by joining an international defense initiative against aerial threats and acquiring missiles for its Navy. The government approved participation in a project aimed at improving low-altitude air defense systems, particularly against drones. Additionally, Bulgaria will collaborate with France and Denmark on a joint missile procurement agreement, which includes 32 missiles for naval air defense systems. These efforts are funded by the EU's SAFE instrument, promoting military investment and cooperation among member states. The initiatives are significant for regional security in the Black Sea, especially for NATO's eastern flank.
