Romania has secured the continuation of national transitional aids (ANT) for farmers beyond 2027, as agreed in EU negotiations. The Romanian Minister of Agriculture emphasized the importance of these aids for farmers' stability and investment. Romania also requested that payment caps remain optional and highlighted the need for adequate funding for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) from 2028 to 2034. Other priorities included improving irrigation infrastructure funding and simplifying risk management tools. Additionally, discussions are ongoing with the European Commission to resume sheep exports to third countries.
