Starting in the 2027-2028 school year, high school students in Romania will study a new optional subject on artificial intelligence and digital citizenship. The curriculum includes understanding AI fundamentals, responsible use of generative AI, and ethical considerations. Students will learn to verify AI-generated information and identify misinformation, including deepfake content. They will also explore copyright issues and data protection, particularly for minors. Additionally, a new subject called Sustainability 2.0 will address climate change and sustainable practices. Both programs aim to enhance students' critical thinking and practical skills.
