Alexandru Toader, son of former Justice Minister Tudorel Toader, has appealed his preventive arrest in a rape case. The High Court will review his request on November 3. He was arrested on October 24, 2026, facing charges of rape, sexual assault, and misuse of his academic position against several students. The university has decided to prohibit him from teaching, regardless of the outcome of his appeal. Both his father and lawyer will also cease working with fourth-year students to avoid contact with potential victims. The university encourages affected students to resume their studies, while an ethics committee report on the case is still pending.
