The Prahova County Council responded to statements regarding the undervaluation of a Nicolae Grigorescu painting at the County Museum of Art. The painting was mistakenly valued at 3.50 lei due to a human error during currency denomination. The last proper evaluation occurred in 1989, and the museum has not requested funds for reevaluation since 2017. The Council emphasized that the responsibility for the outdated valuation lies with previous administrations as well. They plan to analyze all artworks needing reevaluation and establish a budget for this process. The Minister of Culture acknowledged the need for correction and proper funding for evaluations.
