Romania must submit documents proving compliance with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) by November 6, as the European Commission evaluates two payment requests totaling nearly €6.45 billion. Minister Alexandru-Mihai Ghigiu met with European Commission Vice-President Raffaele Fitto to discuss recognition of PNRR results and future EU budget plans. Ghigiu emphasized the importance of demonstrating real results through existing certification mechanisms in Romania. The revised PNRR allocates €20.1 billion, with €13.5 billion in grants. Romania has received approximately €13.2 billion so far, and discussions also covered cohesion policy programs and the EU's future budget.
