Cristian Pistol, head of CNAIR, met with ministers Ovidiu Popa and Natalia Intotero to discuss the environmental agreement for sections 2 and 3 of the Sibiu-Pitești Highway. The revised environmental agreement could be issued by December 2026, contingent on no procedural issues arising. Currently, construction is ongoing on about 45% of section 2 and 30% of section 3, lacking necessary authorizations. Popa criticized delays over the past six months that hindered construction progress. Once the revised agreement is issued, measures will be taken to expedite the construction authorization process. The project includes significant infrastructure elements and is crucial for Romania's transport network.
