In the first nine months of 2026, more fire safety approvals were rejected than granted in Sibiu County. Out of 288 processed requests for fire safety approvals, 174 were denied and 114 approved. The situation is even more pronounced for authorizations, with 105 rejections and only 58 issued. The data, from the ISU Sibiu report, indicates that 873 requests were not processed due to various reasons, not all being outright rejections. The rejection rates for fire safety approvals and authorizations were approximately 60% and 64%, respectively. The number of requests has steadily increased throughout the year, with a total of 1,429 requests recorded. Additionally, 74 objectives were found operating without fire safety authorization during inspections, highlighting ongoing compliance issues.
