Tanzania has announced a significant natural gas discovery in Mnazi Bay, marking the first such find in a decade. The discovery, estimated at 6.3 billion cubic meters, was celebrated by Energy Minister Juma Homera at the Kasa-1X ST2 well. This milestone is expected to enhance the country's oil and gas sector and boost domestic supply. Tanzania already has substantial gas reserves of 1.63 trillion cubic meters. The new well is set to begin production next month, contributing to reliable and affordable energy amid rising demand. The country has also promoted compressed natural gas for vehicles, with infrastructure developments in Dar es Salaam.
